Ph.D. Alumni

Yiwen Dong

I'm Yiwen Dong, a former Ph.D. student graduated from Structures as Sensors Lab at Stanford University, advised by Professor Hae Young Noh. My research focuses on developing ambient intelligence for long-term health monitoring through people's daily interactions with their living spaces.

My research is highly interdisciplinary and fuses the concepts from Human-Building Interactions, Cyber-Physical Systems, Human-Centered AI, and Medicine. Specifically, I am working on 3 main topics: 1) gait health monitoring for the elderly and patients with neuromuscular disorders, 2) continual learning for occupant identification and activity recognition, and 3) animal health monitoring for smart farming.
